Spearmint Herb Seeds (Mentha spicata) often grow it in pots or planters due to its invasive, spreading rhizomes. The plant prefers partial shade, but can flourish in full sun to mostly shade. Spearmint is best suited to loamy soils with abundant organic material.
The difference between spearmint and peppermint is that peppermint has a bold and stronger flavour that can be overpowering in recipes; having a sweeter and more mild flavour than peppermint.
